2 Weeks

My little guy is now three weeks old, but I am posting about his two week birthday:) He weighed 7 lbs 7 oz at his 2 week appointment which means he gained 6 oz and was 1 inch longer than at birth. He was pretty yellow and they were keeping an eye on him for jaundice but we kept him in the sunlight and he was fine. His eyes are still yellow but looking better. He is seriously the best baby! He cries only to eat and then goes back to sleep right away. I will come in and see him just laying there looking around with his lips in a little O. He is so content- I love it! He eats about every 2 hours and poops every 5 minutes so I am constantly changing him and feeding him, its getting a bit exhausting- and expensive for the poop part!

For Milo's 2 week celebration we gave that stinky boy a bath! I started calling him SHMILO cause he was starting to smell, those sponge baths just are not the same as a good ol soak. He loved it too!
Joss loved helping bathe the baby and is such a good big sister to him. Its been a big change for her having baby brother around but she seems to be doing really well.

Number Eleven

My parents came out to meet grandchild #11. Milo was only 2 days old and came home from the hospital the same day they got out here. It was perfect timing! They were so helpful- mom cleaned nonstop and quickly realized that it was never ending, and dad fixed things. He fixed two towel rods, our bathroom door, our shutters, and built an AWESOME addition to my bathroom/laundry room. Which in fact deserves a post of it own:)
So glad they could come out and visit, help and meet the boy. They were in love and hated leaving him, he is such a sweet boy. Thanks mom and dad! Not that they read my blog or anything:)

So Many Sisters

I just wanted to put some pictures up of the girls meeting their baby brother, they have all been so excited to have a brother. It was so fun watching them FINALLY meet him. He is one loved boy:)

(Yes, aniston has a black eye. Lets just say it was a minor sleep walking incident)

The Birth

So.... once I went to the hospital I told Jesse that there was no way I was leaving that place without a baby. The contractions kept coming although not painful I knew they werent stopping. The lady checking me in (wait wasnt that why I pre-registered?) took awhile, re-asked questions I already answered, made MORE copies of my insurance card, answered the phone and then finally wheeled me up to Labor and Delivery. Good thing I was not in pain and my water had not broke! In L&D I got into a gown, was put on monitors and was told that I was in fact having contractions and I was dialated to a two or three and they would check my progress in an hour or two. Once again I was checked and still nothing, contractions were hurting a little and had heartburn like crazy but not much else going on. Said they would wait another hour and check me again, but luckily at this point my Dr. said I was in labor for sure and we could speed it up by breaking my water~ YEAH DR RILEY!! And of course I agreed.
At this time my friend brought Ry and Ave over to the hospital to stay with us and join in on the fun. They were pretty excited to meet their new brother.
I got my IV, and had the best epidural ever! The anesthesiologist was awesome. My past experiences were not so great so I was really worried about getting an epidural, but my husband assured me that they were all really good. He actually just had a month long rotation with them so he worked right next to them and knew what he was talking about. Then Dr Riley came in and broke my water at about 10:00pm
We then just waited and waited. Finally about 1:00 am the nurse came in and had me "practice" push to try to get his head to stay down. I would push and he would come down then I would stop and he would go back up! Little Stinker. I did this off and on waiting for the Doctor to come in. At about 2:30 she came in and got ready, Jesse ran out and grabbed the girls, and one push later our little boy was here! Milo was born at 2:40 a.m weighing 7 pounds 1.5 ounces, 19 1/4 inches long~ my biggest baby! He was so perfect and looked just like his sisters.
I loved my experience at this hospital, I had the best nurses ever, I have the BEST Doctor (yes she is a Dr Riley), the hospital is amazing, and I am so glad my last delivery ended so well. I have also felt SO good, recovery has been so quick and painless. It must be my reward for such an awful last month of pregnancy:)
We are so happy to finally have a little boy in our family, he is such a good baby. We are SO in love with this boy, here he is......

9 Months

I wanted to post one more pregnancy update before the boy joined our family but looks like he did not want to wait! So... My last month was pretty dang crappy. My other pregnancies were uncomfortable and I was tired but nothing like this one. I swear I did not get ANY sleep at nights due to my legs being in pain the entire time. My joints killed. My hips, knees and ankles hurt whenever I would lay in bed, I would put the heating pad on them and started taking Tylenol before bed but really nothing helped. Joss and I would nap during the day which helped, actually she would almost lay on me and watch Shrek while I slept.
I also was bigger with this baby than the other ones and my body was stretched to the max- I had people tell me I looked like I was going to pop, I looked miserable etc. Also he was so low that moving or sitting was so uncomfortable.
My Dr. told me I would be having him early and as soon as I felt labor start to get into the hospital. So hearing that he was almost ready and was going to be out within the week it made me get my hopes up and so we started taking long walks (yeah also really tough to do). I would walk outside when it was nice or walk Walmart when it was cold. I also started bouncing on an excersice ball. I wanted this kid out!!
I went to Dr. Riley on monday with a UTI (super crappy), Tuesday I walked Walmart and bounced on the ball, Wednesday I finally decided I would just wait 5 days and be induced- taking the pressure off and stop wondering "is today the day?" I slept a lot that day. It was weird, I was so tired! And decided Joss and I would walk the mall. We played at the indoor playground, had an ice cream cone and headed home. That night Ry had piano lessons at 5pm and I sat out in the car drinking dr pepper and eating clementines when I started getting contractions, not painful. After a few I started timing them and they were about 10 min apart. After piano they were still coming, Jesse called me and asked if I wanted to go to Young Womens and he would stay home with the younger two kids. I told him we might be going to the hospital so I was not sure.
We threw the lil ones in the tub, and packed some bags. Called and talked to Dr Riley who said yes come in. We dropped older two at church and younger two at friends house and finally made it to the hospital at about 7:00 p.m. with contracttions about 5 min apart. And thats the pregnancy story:) I will go onto birth story in next post. ha ha lets hope it does not take another two months.
